Paul Tsompanas’s non-fiction book Juan Patron: A Fallen Star in the Days of Billy the Kid reads like a rip-roaring six-shooter novel.  The book is about the territory of New Mexico in the last half of the 1800’s whose hero, Juan, hobnobs with characters like Billy the Kid, and Lew Wallace, the author of Ben Hur, during the time of the bloody Lincoln County War.
